Group Power
Groups are ranked by their momentum values across three time frames. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite serve as benchmarks. Limit groups by sector or favorites with the "Limit By" drop down menu. Click on "Groups History" to view historical sectors data. Click on "Groups Help" for more information about the data in this table.
Momentum Time Frames
Groups and sectors are analyzed across three time frames, short, intermediate and long, because that is how we feel most investors/traders organize their work.

Short Term: This is the time frame in which you conduct your actual market operations, place buy and sell orders, execute trades and manage stops. In GroupPower, the short term represents the finest movements in the group structure, those that are just discernable above the noise.

Intermediate Term: This is the time frame in which you make your tactical investment decisions. In GroupPower, the intermediate term represents the major tradeable swings of the groups and sectors.

Long Term: This is the environment in which we are operating, long-term bull, consolidation and so on. In GroupPower, the long term depicts the most important macro trends in the structure.

The actual time frame for the terms are:
Short Term = 1 Month
Intermediate Term = 1 Quarter
Long Term = 2 Quarters (semi-annual)

Rank % (Momentum Rank Percentile) and Rank % Change

  • Combined score of the 3 momentum ranks expressed as percentage.
  • A score of 100% is the best (all ranks at #1)
  • A score of 0% is the worst (all ranks at the bottom).
  • Near-term weighting (Short-term carries the most weight in calculating score)
    3 x Short-term rank
    2 x Int-term rank
    1 x Long-term rank
  • Daily change in Rank % to track overall momentum movement.

Short-Term, Intermediate-Term, Long-Term Momentum and Daily Changes

PSMF (Persistency of money flow)

  • PSMF is the percent of days out of the past 125 days the 20-day simple moving average of money flow has been positive.
  • The greater the number, the stronger the flow of money into the group.

GEAR (Correlation to S&P 500)
